I recently watched an old BBC adaptation of the Chronicles, with Donald Pleasence as Septimus Harding and Alan Rickman as the oleaginous Obadiah Slope. If thoroughly recommend it if you’ve not already seen it.Anastasia F-Bhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01284602529524462457noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4413130168723738166.post-44706262401456933122011-05-01T08:57:46.692-07:002011-05-01T08:57:46.692-07:00Hi Ana,

I recently read Trollope's autobiography, which I found fascinating. Have you read it yet? He goes into a little detail on his brief efforts to "enter politics" which I'm sure would add insight into the Palliser novels. He also mentions that he was never able to write a novel without some "love" in it, even if that was not his original intention based upon the subject matter.

I recently started The Warden, the first of the Barsetshire series (of which I read The small House at Allington first, out of order).

-JayAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4413130168723738166.post-86703714305690739842011-04-27T15:19:06.959-07:002011-04-27T15:19:06.959-07:00SB, thank you for your kind words. :-) Have you ...SB, thank you for your kind words. :-) Have you read any Trollope?
